Eligibility – Post-wise Qualification
Post-wise qualifications are summarised below. Candidates must read the full official notification for the exact conditions for their post, including experience, Hindi/Sanskrit requirements and document rules.
- Assistant Registrar: Master’s degree with at least 55% marks, five years of administrative experience as Superintendent from a government institute/university or recognised medical college, and a computer course of at least three months.
- SDE (Civil): B.Tech. in Civil Engineering, or B.Sc./Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised university.
- JE (Civil): Three-year Diploma in Civil Engineering, or B.Tech./Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or Associate Membership Examination of the Institution of Engineers.
- JE (Electrical): Three-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering, or B.Tech./Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or Associate Membership Examination of the Institution of Engineers.
- Library Assistant: Bachelor’s degree in Library Science / Library and Information Science with at least 55% marks, computer knowledge and English typing speed of 30 words per minute.
- Library Counter Clerk: Graduate degree and Bachelor’s degree in Library Science (B.Lib.), three years of experience in a library of a government institution/university or government-aided institution, and computer knowledge.
- Library Restorer: Graduate degree and Bachelor’s degree in Library Science (B.Lib.), three years of experience in a library of a government institution/university or government-aided institution, and computer knowledge.
- Store Keeper: Graduate degree, qualifying data-entry/computer skill test at 30 words per minute including internet and email use, and SETC qualification within the probation period as stated in the notification.
For most posts, Matric with Hindi or Sanskrit as a subject, or 10+2/BA/MA with Hindi as a subject, is also required. Check the notification for your post.
Age Limit
Candidates must be between 18 and 42 years of age. Age relaxation for reserved categories applies as per Haryana Government instructions. Candidates should confirm the age cut-off date from the official notification before applying.

Selection Process
Selection is based on a total merit of 100 marks and varies by post. In general it includes a written test (MCQ), academic achievement marks, and, where applicable, a computer/typing skill test and interview. Assistant Registrar and SDE (Civil) include an interview stage; JE, Library Counter Clerk and Library Restorer posts are assessed mainly through the written test and academic marks; Library Assistant and Store Keeper include a qualifying typing test. Negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answer applies to the Assistant Registrar and SDE (Civil) written tests. Shortlisting for document verification is generally in a 1:5 ratio. Candidates must read the notification for the exact stage-wise scheme for their post.
